News Anchor – CBS Radio, New York, NY – 2001 to 2009
Hired as the youngest on-air personality in the history of CBS Radio’s prestigious all-news radio station, 1010 WINS. Scope of responsibilities involved programming, writing and delivering newscasts, editing, research, conducting interviews, voicing and producing commercials/promos, and managing relationships with media relations professionals throughout US.
- Reviewed, analyzed, and interpreted news, business, sports, and other information from various sources for broadcast on New York City’s only, all-news radio station.
- Examined and determined news topics of local, national, and international significance airing during 1010 WINS’ 22-minute news cycles.
- Edited news releases to fit in available time and space, as well as edited, voiced, and produced commercials for broadcast.
- Interviewed on live air and managed relationships with government, celebrities, and other notable people.
- Worked closely with internal staffs, maintaining cooperative relationships to accomplish organizational goals.
News Anchor – WNYC Radio, New York, NY – 1999 to 2008
Wrote and anchored the hourly, midday newscasts on the most-listened-to radio station in Manhattan (also the most-listened-to public station in the US). Researched, interviewed, and developed stories based on current news and business events. Handled media bookings/placement, and involved in promotional/station events.
- Prepared and filed regional reports of national interest that were broadcast on 797 National Public Radio stations across the country.
- Presented news stories and introduced in-depth segments, as well as live transmissions from reporters in the field.
- Periodically served as local host of NPR’s flagship programs, Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
- Recorded station announcements for fund raisers and other on-air promotional campaigns.
